Exploring Andragogy: A Journey in Lifelong Learning July 7, 2021, by R. Jensen Years ago, as a senior in high school, all I could think about was how much I could not wait to finish school. Naively thinking that I would never again have to agonize over reading books, taking tests, or completing projects. Fast forward twenty plus years… I am enrolled in school finishing a master's degree. Long story short I never quit learning. Continually seeking new teaching ideas and technology applications. I am still learning. What has changed my thinking? Andragogy. Defined as "the art and science of helping adults learn" (Chan, 2010, p. 27) , it transforms education from a passive experience to a dynamic learning journey. Leaving behind the pedagogical learning style where teachers or schools decide for you-what is important to learn.
